At Alert Level 3 & 2 rental viewings are required to display an NZ COVID Tracer app QR code poster.
The purpose of this is to help New Zealanders keep track of where they’ve been, which will help make contact tracing go faster if there are further outbreaks of COVID-19.
Each rental viewing must have its own unique NZ COVID Tracer app QR code poster. Therefore you must print one A4 poster for each individual property.
Property Managers can now do this from the Ministry of Health website or the ‘My Properties’ tab in the eBundle.
“All businesses and services are required to display the official NZ COVID Tracer QR code posters in a prominent place at or near the main entrances to each of their premises,” the Ministry of Health said on their website.
This is a mandatory requirement for all New Zealand businesses as of Wednesday August 19.
“The order makes it mandatory for any business or service to display a QR code for the COVID TRACER app prominently at all entry points, allowing everyone to sign in via the tracing app. So what is mandatory is the display of that QR code,” Prime Minster Jacinda Ardern said.
“Many businesses, as you’ll note, have done that already because as you’ll see them on display.”
Businesses should also have a pen-and-paper register or other system in place, to support contact tracing for people who don’t use the app.
When placing the QR Code poster at the rental property or your office, remember to make sure it is at the entrance and no higher than 130 centimetres so people in wheelchairs can reach them too.
You risk a fine of up to $400 if you don’t display these QR Code posters at a place of business.
Auckland will remain at Alert Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand will stay at Alert Level 2 until at least August 27.
